⚫ 소개: 

전공 분야는 16, 17세기 영국 희곡과 문화이며, 주요 연구 관심사는 극장과 출판 문화를 중심으로 배우를 포함한 다양한 주체들이 근대 초기 드라마의 형성과 소비, 그리고 해석에 미치는 영향력을 살피는 것이다. 또한 여성들이 전통적으로 문학으로 분류되어 왔던 장르의 글들을 출판하는 것 이외에 어떻게 다양한 방식으로 활발하게 활동하며 그 존재를 각인시켜 왔는지를 다양한 사료를 통해 탐구하는 데에도 관심이 있다. 최근에는 16,17세기의 사료와 문학 텍스트의 물질성이 어떤 방식으로 디지털화되고 인문학적으로 해석될 수 있는지 연구하고 있다.

Youmi JUNG specializes in early modern English drama and culture with a specific attention to the material world of the theatre and the collaborative nature of the creative works. Her current research project proposes to emphasize the extent to which early modern dramatists wrote collaborately to include those who brought words to life for the audience, the actors and theatre managers. She is also interested in using a multi-lens, interdisciplinary approach to challenge traditional notions of early modern authorship by extending it to examine the context of cultural performance by women who flaunted both influence and power. Her most recent research focuses on the digitization of early modern historical and literary texts to explore how such digitization can further widen the scope of literary studies.
